History of Rock & Roll: Grading Policy

Homework is Practice for Tests, Quizzes, & Projects

Some students pick up certain concepts very quickly. For others, it takes a little longer for an idea to "soak in." Homework is corrected, but is not graded based upon a percentage of right & wrong answers.

Grading for This Class is Based Upon a Point System:

  • Homework

    • 10 points for every assignment turned in on time

    • 5 points for assignment turned in late

  • Listening quizzes: 100 points

  • Pop Quizzes: 10 - 50 points

  • The Midterm Exam: 200 points

  • The Final Exam: 200 points

  • The final project: 300 points

Your grade is determined by a percentage of points earned to points assigned. The total number of accumulated points (assuming there are no pop quizzes) for the entire term is approximately 1400.

Important!

  • Your midterm & end-term grades are not averaged to determine your final grade. Instead, points are accumulative for the entire term.

  • You may retake any quiz or exam as often as you wish until you are satisfied with your grade. Deadline to do retakes: Tuesday, October 24, at the end of class period. Warning: It is virtually impossible to retake everything the final week of class.
