Attention thespians and other actor-type people!  This year’s fall play will be Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird.”  Auditions for this drama based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel will be at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 in the Dicke Theatre. We will be reading scenes from the play.  Copies of the play are available in Mr. Coven’s office next week and can be borrowed by emailing covenr@culver.org to set a time for pickup.  Sign-ups for auditions and for the workshop will be on Monday, Sept. 3, at the Activities Fair.  Also, there may be openings for FACULTY CHILDREN in this production.  If you have a child interested in performing who can make the after school rehearsals, please email Mr. Coven.

Technology Services will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3.  If you have an emergency, please use the “After hours emergency” priority selection at www.culver.org/webhelp.

No Daily Bulletin will be produced on Labor Day, because class is not in session and the communications department will be closed in observance of the holiday. Please make sure to submit any items pertinent to the weekend and Monday for publication in tomorrow's DB.

Cordon is a group of Christian students that meets weekly for food, fellowship, a devotional and prayer. We will meet this Sunday, Sept. 2, and interested students should be at Logansport gate at 5:30 p.m. to get a ride. We have a new youth minister who will be working with the group this year, and this first meeting will be a chance to meet her. Contact Mr. Haynes (haynest@culver.org) if you have questions.

The Daily Bulletin needs a steady supply of photos in order to keep the pictures located at the upper left and upper right new each day. We know parents, students, and faculty/staff members enjoy the shots, and we want to see your best work. Don't be shy. If you enjoy seeing new faces each day, then send them our way. Be sure to include ID's of everyone in the frame

At the football game tonight, Aug. 31, CAB will sponsor a football toss during halftime. Those with winning footballs will receive prizes, so make sure to stay for the whole game.

No injuries were reported in an early-morning fire that took place in South Barrack on Monday, Aug. 27. Please click here for the complete press release pertaining to the situation.

Faculty/ Staff

The Culver Academies Boy Scout troop needs faculty and staff help. Scouts advance in the Boy Scouts by earning rank and completing merit badges. The adult leadership and scouts are able to cover all the requirements for earning rank. However, we cannot meet the needs of the scouts when it comes to merit badges. This is where we need faculty and staff members to become involved and be merit badge counselors. Review the following website, and if you have a particular interest in one of the merit badges and are willing to spend some time helping scouts achieve advancement, please contact Dale Spenner, our committee chair, and he will assist in getting you signed up. To learn more about Troop 209, please visit the two following links located here and here. Thank you. – Mr. Larry Emmons, Scoutmaster, Troop 209, Culver Academies

Administrative Services will be closed on Labor Day, Sept. 3.

The accounting and cashier offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 3, for the Labor Day holiday.  Requisitions must be submitted to the accounting office by noon today, Aug. 31, to be included in the check process on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
