Guest percussionist to perform tomorrow All are welcome to a performance by Popo Arriola, Honduran percussionist, during C block (12 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. ) tomorrow, Jan. 10, in the Band Room of the Music and Arts Building. Popo represents the Garifuna people, who escaped slavery in the 1600s to form free communities on the Honduran North Coast. He will be sharing music, dance and stories of the Garifuna people with Ms. DiLorenzo’s Spanish 2 class and Mrs. Lynch-Weirich’s Ragtime to Rap class. Bring a percussion instrument if you wish. School Year Abroad has just announced that it is offering a one semester program in India beginning next August.
