Student Life

The MyCapture online photo gallery now features photos of Veterans Day under the category of “Special Events” and shots of girls basketball under “Athletics/Girls 0708.”

Any student, faculty, or staff member who would like a flu shot may come to the health center during any free periods to receive one. The cost is $25. A limited supply is left and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cordon will meet for a cookout, bonfire, smores, Christian fellowship and a devotional Sunday, Nov. 18. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at Logansport Gate for a ride. Please contact Mrs. Siefert (brynkim@yahoo.com) if you would like more information about Cordon. 

Interested in music?  Like Chicago?  Join us for the next Culture in Chicago outing on Sunday, Jan. 13.  Sponsored by Academy trustee Paul Gignilliat, students and faculty are invited to attend the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s “Beyond the Score” performance of Tchaikovsky’s 4th symphony.  This trip includes the performance at the CSO, a sit-down lunch and box dinner from a Chicago restaurant. There is no cost to trip participants. We will leave around 11 a.m. and return around 8 p.m. If you are interested, please email Jen Cerny.  In your email, please include your unit/dorm.

Indiana Math League round two is at 3:05 p.m. today, Nov. 13. The location has been changed to Mr. Baughman’s room, D206, for this contest only. All students interested in challenging mathematics questions are invited to participate. Bring pencils and calculator to join in on this 30-minute, six-question competition. Congratulations to Zhaoheng Zheng, who scored a perfect six during round one and to Yongzuay Wu and Chuai He, both of whom scored five out of six.

RPI and Source America will be here at 6:30 p.m. today, Nov. 13. Otterbein College arrives at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Nov. 14. Wellesley College and Agnes Scott College both follow at 6:30 p.m. The deans of admission from both Wellesley and Agnes Scott will be on campus to speak to all girls from CGA.

We will be celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of our fall athletes. Athletics

The jumping team competed this past weekend at Andrew’s Osborne Academy in Willoughby, Ohio, and placed sixth overall out of 23 teams.  Individual results were as follows: Emma Ost: First in Varsity Intermediate Flat, Fifth in Varsity Intermediate Fences; Michael Berto: First in JV Beginner Flat; Ashley Eberhart: Third in JV Novice Fences, Third in JV Novice Flat; Randi Fleener: Fifth in Varsity Intermediate Fences, Fourth in Varsity Intermediate Flat; Ali Davidge: Third in Varsity Intermediate Fences; Alex VanPelt: Fourth in JV Beginner Flat; Roxanne Reiter: Sixth in Varsity Open Fences.

The CMA junior varsity hockey team hosts Mishawaka Marian varsity at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Nov. 13.
