The CMA football team goes for its sixth win in a row at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 5, against unbeaten Lafayette Central Catholic. Please support the Eagles and say goodbye to the 18 seniors who will be honored prior to the game.

Student Life

“Balls of Fury ,” rated PG-13, will show at the Uptown Cinema at 7 and 9 p.m. tonight, Oct. 5, at 1, 3:30, 7 and 9 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 6, at 1, 3:30, and 7 on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 5 and 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, and at 5 and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.

Jocelyn Kinsey is looking for faculty and students to help out with her senior service project. She is running a canned food drive in which students will go around on Halloween night and “Trick or Treat” for canned goods. It will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Cordon will be meeting at the Pacelli house this week for food and Christian fellowship. Mr. and Mrs. Pacelli are moving, and this will be a chance for Cordon to say goodbye to them. Please provide a warm welcome to The Culver Educational Foundation Board of Trustees and special guests who are on campus for Culver’s quarterly board meeting and By Example campaign celebration. A part of this celebration will be a ribbon cutting event and open house at the new Steinbrenner Performing Arts Center. Join us at the ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon today, Oct. 5. Trustees and outside guests may park in the lot directly in front of the Steinbrenner Performing Arts Center.

The Global Studies Institute’s Culver in China program is proud is announce that our sister-school in China, the Shanghai Foreign Language School, arrived last night, Oct. 4, for its second official visit to Culver. SFLS will have a delegation of 19 students and 5 teachers.  In addition to attending our classes and participating in Culver activities, the group will tour Notre Dame for a day on Tuesday, Oct. 9, and experience one of Whirlpool Corporation’s Innovation Strategy Sessions on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Whirlpool’s world headquarters in Benton Harbor, Mich. SFLS delegates will depart Culver on Thursday morning, Oct. 11, and visit the McCloskey Dairy Farm on their way to Chicago. From Chicago, they go to New York City for three days before returning to Shanghai on the 16.

The University of Dayton will visit at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, followed at 6:30 p.m. by Loyola of Chicago.

CAB will be hosting “That ’70s Dance” from 8 to 10:30 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 6, behind the science and math building. Wear your best ’70s civvies within the guidelines. Tie-dye has been approved for both CMA and CGA.

Technology tip: Don’t use your computer on your bed, as it can overheat or fall off. Be careful with drinks and food around your laptop.

CGA freshman volleyball defeated North Judson-San Pierre 25-15 and 25-12 and Westville 25-14 and 25-11 in a three-way match last night. The Eagles host Logansport, South Bend St. Joseph, and Bremen in their season-ending, 8th Annual CGA Invitational round-robin tournament tomorrow, Oct. 6. The first match goes off at 9:00 a.m., with the championship match slated for 12:30 p.m. Come on over to Fleet and Vierson Gyms and support the team one last time.

All interested in playing boys lacrosse next spring should attend a mandatory meeting at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, in Henderson Ice Arena. If you cannot make it, but are interested in playing lacrosse, email coach Posner.
