Come out in your best dance shoes this Saturday, Sept. 8, to celebrate the beginning of another great school year. The dance will take place from 8 to 10:30 p.m. behind the math and science building, hosted by Troop. Admission is $1, cash only. Visiting artist Eloiwa will be on campus from Sunday, Sept. 9, through Wednesday, Sept. 12. She will share a sacred set of “seven clay ancient Peruvian whistling pots,” in combination with the journey of the Labyrinth, as a deepening experience of connecting with the “sound stream,” stirring every cell in vibration within us. Sound and vibration have been tools of the ancient cultures throughout the world that connect us up with the “unseen worlds,” our own inner heart, and quiet our thinking minds so that we will have “new ears to hear” the mystery buried within our souls. Eloiwa will be available for classes to meet with her during the day in the Legion Memorial Building and also during rec. period on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 10 and 11. Many of us have found walking the Labyrinth to be a powerful experience—walking it with the music Eloiwa creates should enhance that happening. Please contact Dr. Davies if you wish to take part in this event. CMA and CGA senior group pictures and CMA unit photos will be taken this Sunday, Sept. 9. Click here for details. Student planners finally have arrived. Visit the bookstore to purchase one.
