Please notice that if you are withdrawing cash from the First Source ATMs on campus, there is a $1.50 fee if you are not using a First Source card. The machine will remind you to accept the fee before processing your transaction. Be aware that your bank may also charge a fee for the transaction, so both fees need to be recorded in your check register. Today is the last day to submit your application for the Community Service Council. Applications are available here. The Community Service Council plans and orchestrates community service events on and off campus throughout the year, providing opportunities for all members of the campus community to serve. Contact Ashlyn Ayres, Chris Miclot, Trevor Grywatch, Hunter DeKoninck, Katherine Lewis, Romina Clemente or Mrs. Kelley for more information. Feel free to email your applications directly to Mrs. Kelley. Fitness center hours for the month of September are available by clicking here. The post office has received an undeliverable package from “JbyJori” in Philadelphia that is addressed to “Daniel.” It contains a book titled “Active Chemistry.” If anyone needs to claim it, please call Ms. Sheppard at ext. 8333 or email her at sheppac@culver.org. A representative from First Source Bank will be on campus to assist students with their accounts for the next few weeks. The rep will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the game room next to the bookstore. Come out in your best dance shoes tomorrow , Sept. 8, to celebrate the beginning of another great school year. The dance will take place from 8 to 10:30 p.m. behind the math and science building, hosted by Troop. Admission is $1, cash only.
Faculty/ Staff All faculty/staff association members get a free medium beverage today, Sept. 7, at the Culver Coffee Co. Buy potted mums for $10 and help the CGA Council decorate for Dean England’s Day. The corrected form for purchasing flowers is available now at the post office. The correct price is $10, not $8. Attached here is the flower order form that you may print and send to Mrs. Carolyn Davidge, box 53. Order forms also are in the post office on the ledge across from the main desk – making it quick and easy to pick up a form, make a donation, and put it into Mrs. Davidge’s mailbox.
Athletics The Sept. 15 game times for the CGA junior varsity and varsity soccer games against visiting Goshen have been changed because of ACT testing. The junior varsity game now begins at 2 p.m., followed at 3:30 by the varsity match. The freshman football team has added a game to its schedule, now facing host New Prairie at 10 a.m., tomorrow, Sept. 8. The rugby team needs faculty and staff members to proctor preseason workouts and practices. All they need to do is take attendance and be there at the start of practice. Anyone who is interested in helping out the team can email Andrew Urban at urbana@culver.org. The CMA lacrosse program will have a special ceremony at noon tomorrow, Sept. 8, in Roberts Auditorium, where members of the 2007 state championship team will receive their commemorative rings. A highlight video featuring the best goals, saves, checks and hits throughout the course of the entire season will play during the event. All are welcome to attend, especially those who are interested in playing lacrosse this season. If you have any questions, please email coach Posner.
