Red Cross Bloodmobile set for next Sunday The Academies will host a Red Cross Bloodmobile (our first fall mobile) from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, in the Fleet Gym. Any adult must bring identification with you – driver’s license will do – students will need their Culver ID cards. You may sign up in the dining hall during lunch hours on Tuesday, Sept. 25, to make appointment times for donation, or you can email carverj@culver.org, hoovere@culver.org, and henninl@culver.org. Any student 17 and older as of Sept. 30 may donate. It will take about 75 minutes for the entire donation process. "See You at the Pole" to be held Wednesday See You at the Pole: Each year, more than three million Christian students from all 50 states and 20 countries gather around the flagpoles at their schools on a Wednesday morning in September. They gather to pray for their nation and their school. This Wednesday morning, Sept. 26, we invite you to join us as we continue that tradition. We will meet for prayer at 6:35 a.m. at the flagpoles near Sally Port. Come dressed in daily uniform. You will be released by 7 a.m. to get to inspection/ranks/breakfast. Contact Mr. Chastain at ext. 8395 or Mr. Powell at ext. 7038 for more information. Special guest to speak at all-school meeting Ross Szabo, director of youth outreach for the National Mental Health Awareness Campaign, shares a powerful message of his own experience with mental illness during high school and college during an hour-long all-school meeting at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Student Life Illinois Wesleyan will be on campus at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Here’s a new tip from the CGA Technology Prefects. To prolong battery life, allow the battery to run all the way down before plugging it in. Every time you charge the battery, it reduces its ability to charge fully the next time. After so many times being plugged in, the battery’s life has been drastically reduced. To keep your battery’s life as long as possible, simply avoid plugging it in as frequently.
Faculty/ Staff A faculty/staff meeting will be held from 3 to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Tennis-shoe Tuesdays: Come one, come all, solo or in groups of two to four. Join us at 12:15 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 25, at Sally Port for a one-mile walk around campus for health and wellness. After Tuesday, the weekly walks (four in total) will be timed. The winner will be the person or team that improves his or its time the most. In the case of rain, please meet in the fitness center. Hope to see you there. Contact Dr. Coyle for more information.
