12. FACILITIES AND THE CAMPUS SAFETY (S.H.A.R.C.) TEAM

would like to thank everybody for their communication of and

participation in yesterday’s test of our emergency/severe weather warning

system. Our drill went very well for the most part in terms of participation

by students and staff. However we did experience some areas of

opportunity, such as: The slight pause in the sounding of the three-minute

siren being mistaken for the ‘all-clear’, students out on the grounds

uncertain as to what was going on, what to do or where to go, and in

many cases, not being able to hear the sirens at all. We will be gathering

feedback from all areas of campus in an effort to better prepare ourselves

for an actual weather emergency, and would appreciate your input. Please

direct any concerns or suggestions to the Campus Safety Team via this

link. Facilities staff and the Safety Team will be reviewing all concerns in

an effort to update and streamline our response procedures, so that we

can better protect our students and staff! Thanks again for your

       cooperation!   Campus Safety Team
