1.   THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS UPDATE offers tips for managing moods with different foods! Maintain stable blood sugar, with no big swings, by eating small meals and snacks (like fruits!), eating breakfast and drinking lots of water and juice. Following these simple suggestions will help your body fight off stress and illness!

                                                                                                            

 

2.   A MANDATORY CLASS MEETING FOR JUNIORS is tomorrow  in Eppley Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Please be on time.          (Dr. Turner, ext. 8245)

 

 

3.   THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR THE TRIP TO SIX FLAGS in Louisville has been extended.  If you will be here over long weekend, you can go on this trip!  The cost will be approximately $50 - $75 and will be charged to your student account.  Any student interested in attending should e-mail Mrs. Hunter NO LATER THAN TOMORROW.  We MUST have at least 25 students sign up in order to go.                              (Student Activities, ext. 8295)

 

 

4.   THE VARSITY FENCING TEAM’S FIRST TRAINING will start tomorrow at 3:45 p.m. in the fencing gym. Freshmen and sophomore students who have not fenced before are welcome to come tryout for the JV team.

5.   FOUR SENIORS ARE CONDUCTING A BASKETBALL CLINIC for faculty and staff children. They will work on skills such as ball handling, shooting, and footwork. Each session will last for approximately 90 minutes every Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the winter season. All who are interested or would like to know more please email Shantel Dinwiddie or Will Zollman. Thank you!

 

 

6.   ANY STUDENT WHO CAUGHT A FRISBEE MARKED “WIN” during Friday's football game should bring the Frisbee to Student Activities to claim his or her gift certificate.  You must pick up your prize by Friday at 4:00 p.m.

7.   INTERACTIVE ALL-SCHOOL MEETING PLAN.  A revised calendar for All-School meetings is a permanent link in the left column of every DB.  This link will take you to a draft calendar of still-unplanned All-School Meetings covering November through May.  Here’s your chance to be creative and have your say!  Dean Steffen asks that everyone on campus review the calendar and submit at least one idea for an All-School Meeting—for example a theme, an event, a speaker you would like to hear. 

 

 

8.  THE SCIMATHALON IS COMING SOON. See this informational website to view the competitors by unit, the rubrics and guidelines for each event, and the schedule for the day (where the students need to be and when). Contact

9.  THE SPANISH HONORARY SOCIETY will be offer 16 expense-paid trips to Costa Rica this year. If you are a junior and have taken Spanish in the past, you are encouraged to participate in the annual Spanish Travel Awards. For additional information please see Mr. Garzón during the next Spanish Club meeting on October 19, in Gignilliat Hall room 103 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

10. MIAMI (OHIO) UNIVERSITY at 9:40 a.m., MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY at 11:20 a.m. and LOYOLA (ILLINOIS) UNIVERSITY at 1:30 p.m. will visit campus today. CENTRE COLLEGE will be here tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. The college representatives will be in the Alumni Lounge of the Legion Building. Please remember to bring your resumes and good questions to ask about the school.
